Asalaam Alaikum Muslim Snackers/Shabat Shalom my Jewish Snackers,
In a recent trip to the IANT masjid located in Richardson Texas, I noticed the store inside selling Cheetos and Doritos ; after a brief conversation with the children playing inside and consuming these snacks I politely informed them of their mis-education. The poor misguided children automatically assumed they were halal since they were being sold in the masjid.....well pay attention they are not!
There are many snacks such as potato chips that is not Halal or Kosher, and I will inform you of some the brands that many of us probably eat all the time and don't realize what they contain lard (a pork by-product).
If these snack brands do not have the UD, or KD symbol on the bag you should probably not buy it, unless you are the kind of person that does not follow the Halal and Kosher dietary requirements, spiritually and mentally.
Number one on the list of Non-Halal snacks is stated below:
Cheetos- the cheese is made from pork animal rennet's as a ingredient.
Baked Tostitos - salsa cream, bite cheddar quesadilla
Baked-ETS
Fritos Texas Grill, Sabrositas, Chilli Cheese
Baked Lays- KC Masterpiece, Sour Cream and Onion
Ruffles- Cheddar & Sour Cream
Pringles- Cheez Ums, Mesquite BBQ, Sour Cream

These are just a few snacks I have listed that does not have the UD or K symbol on the product and by the way a little advice for those who are interested in these items look for the symbols on your favorite snacks to be sure you're not buying non-Halal foods. Until Next Time...Chowbaby!
